Billex Doux 2018 Displays Over 100 Works by Murray Arts Visual Artists

BILLET DOUX 2018 exhibition is now open at Albury LibraryMuseum, on display until Sunday 2 December. Billet Doux is a biennial open entry contemporary, non-acquisitive, art prize and exhibition of small-scale artworks "“ showcasing the diversity in visual arts practises in the Murray Arts region.

Second year running, Billet Doux collected a record of over 100 entries from 37 artists. Entries will be judged by Brigid Hansen, a Melbourne based writer and curator of contemporary art.

Alyce Fisher, Murray Arts Executive Director, said "Our region is rich in artistic qualities and this exhibition allows Murray Arts to highlight our regions, Visual Artists. Billet Doux is a great opportunity for us to present an array of visual arts mediums from the Murray Arts footprint "“ practises varying from photography to textiles, acrylic to watercolours and more."

The winners will be announced at the Billet Doux Opening, Saturday 20 October, where up to four entries will win cash prizes of $250 each. Audiences will also have the chance to vote for a winner in the People's Choice Award "“ announced post-closing of Billet Doux. All Billet Doux artworks are for available for purchase.

Billet Doux is inspired by the Linden Postcard Show and translates to "a sweet note".
