Raw, inspired and mature beyond her 22 years, Wergaia woman Alice Skye is proud to announce "60%" - the first single from her forthcoming debut album "Friends With Feelings" - out early 2018.

Written on the plane from Melbourne to Alice Springs on her way to record "Friends With Feelings" at the historic CAAMA Music studios, Alice explains "I did a lot of writing on the flight to Alice to distract myself from being terrified (I hate flying), at the time I was in a relationship where my anxiety was too much for the other person. So I had the line "swim out to me, I sink everyone that gets close...". It was actually a really hard thing to go through and I think a lot of people would feel it in any kind of relationship. The feeling of wanting to talk and share things with someone but not wanting to overwhelm them. Not wanting to rely on someone... but also, wanting to rely on someone."

Making national headway with her debut single "You Are the Mountains", in late 2015 Alice was a finalist in the Triple J Unearthed NIMA competition and named one of the 5 new Indigenous artists you need to hear whilst compiling airplay and praise across Triple J, Radio National and community radio.

Now proudly managed by Penney and Logan and signed to Australia"s longest running Indigenous music label CAAMA music, Alice will perform at BIGSOUND for the CAAMA Music Showcase among a line-up of incredible artists such as Apakatjah and KnD.

From Country Victoria, Alice grew up aside the sandstone mountains and wildflowers of the Grampians, still inspired by her roots Alice now calls Melbourne home and says "I take great pride in my heritage and to combine both music and my background brings me an unexplainable amount of pride and happiness."
