Jack Family Charitable Trust

The Jack Family Charitable Trust was established by the late Muriel Isabel Freeman. The inaugural City of Albany Art Prize in 2008 was the first arts event to be supported by the Jack Family Charitable Trust and the Trustees, alongside the City of Albany, continue to recognise the important role that arts play in the broader community and within the City of Albany.

Albany

Located 409 km south of Perth, Albany is WA"s premier regional City and the hub of a 40,000 square kilometre region known as the Great Southern.

For thousands of years, Noongar Aboriginal people of the Minang group lived by Albany's sheltered waters. Much of their story is lost in time but Noongar people play an increasingly prominent role in Albany today. In 1826 Albany became the first European settlement in Western Australia and until the early 1900s was the state"s major international port.

Bounded by the Southern Ocean, the picturesque Stirling Range and the Great Southern hinterland, today Albany is one of WA"s most popular holiday destinations and a thriving cultural centre.
