Galleries, retailers, art and design schools, cultural institutions, organisations, collectives and individuals are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to host an event during the festival. This could include exhibitions, events, talks, workshops, markets, retail events, open studios and installations.

Sydney Craft Week unites the very active craft sector within Sydney's creative community - including ceramicists, jewellers, quilters, knitters and other textile artists, plus timber workers, print makers, leather crafters, designer/makers, Indigenous makers, and creatives of all kinds who work with their hands.

Mindful Making is the theme for this year's festival, exploring how working with your hands offers opportunities to focus, connect, relax and create. We also focus on how makers approach their craft by applying a thoughtful and considered approach to the sustainable use of materials, innovative processes and an understanding of community needs.

This year, we expect as many or more participants than last year, which had 90+ events across 45+ suburbs of Greater Sydney, including 3 markets, 12+ family-friendly events and 50+ workshops.

In 2018, Sydney Craft Week takes place over the school holidays, so those running events for kids and family-friendly events are encouraged to apply.
