Budding smartphone filmmakers have just one month left to submit their entries to the second annual SmartFone Flick Fest! The deadline looms as tickets go on sale for the SF3 Gala Awards Final at Chauvel Cinema on August 26. And the festival has also joined with creative partners to offer some special masterclasses to support filmmakers in their quest for glory. #SF3Fest @SF3Fest
SF3 - Australia's only international smartphone film festival for filmmakers of all ages "“ was a hit in its debut season last year. This year's fest has already been swamped with great entries from all over Australia "“ and the world! And more are coming in all the time.

SF3 movies must be no longer than six and a half minutes, including credits, with no further restrictions other than that they must be shot entirely on a smartphone or tablet. The competition is open to filmmakers of any level of experience. The festival provides a platform for filmmakers, from beginners to professionals, to bring their ideas to life - and have their films seen by a global audience - without the need for expensive equipment or a big budget.

Prospective filmmakers needing some "ª#"ŽFILMBREAKER"¬ inspiration are invited to join festival directors Ali Crew and Angela Blake along with the pocket filmmaker himself, Jason van Genderen, from Pocket Film Academy as they make iPhone cameras do things you've never dreamed of! Adventures in Pocket Filmmaking is a free event at the Apple Store, Sydney on Thursday July 7. Registration is recommended (you don't want to miss this, trust us) so visit the Apple Store app or https://s.apple.com/dE4O1Z0v4H."¬"¬"¬

SF3 and the The HubStudio have also joined with Actors to Actors to present Script Shoot Submit - a series of masterclasses over three Saturdays in July. The sessions on 9, 16 and 23 July will guide participants from concept to submission of their entry into the SmartFone Flick Fest. Coaches and professional industry guests will help develop script, produce each project, shoot using a smartphone and edit the film ready for submission. Details at www.thehubstudio.com.au

Festival entries close midnight August 1. The top ten films will then be selected and shown at a Gala Final Screening on August 26th where awards will be presented - with rich prizes on offer. The SF3 Gala Awards Final will also include a screening of the Co-Founder's Flick Pick and Kids Flick Pick. Film industry expert judges include Cinematographer Pieter de Vries, Film Director Serhat Caradee, Acting coach Alan Nurthen, TV and film Line Producer Sandra Alexandra and International Mobil Film Festival founder Susan Botello (USA).
