Papunya Tjupi Arts returns to Incinerator Art Space following their sell out show in 2016. Honey Ant Gallery is proud to again present their latest masterpieces, showcasing sought after senior artists, whilst introducing a new generation of superb talent.
Papunya Tjupi Arts is located in the culturally significant community of Papunya, approximately 250kms North West of Alice Springs. It was here in the early 1970s that the Western Desert dot-painting movement began.
Initially just the elder men painted, encouraged by a young art teacher by the name of Geoffrey Bardon. Later on the women joined, and in fact it is mostly women who currently paint for the art centre.
Papunya Tjupi Arts continues to go from strength to strength. Their remarkable works are receiving widespread acclaim.
Senior artists represented in the exhibition include Tilau Nangala, Nellie Nangala, Doris Bush Nungurrayi, Martha McDonald Napaltjarri, Isobel Gorey Nambajimba, Punata Stockman Nungarrayi, Isobel Major Nampitjinpa, Beyula Puntungka Napanangka, Charlotte Phillipus Napurrula, Narlie Nelson Nakamarra, Maureen Poulsen Napangardi, Emily Andy Napaltjarri, Candy Nelson Nakamarra and Mary Roberts Nakamarra.
The show will also introduce a new generation of superb talent.

Papunya Tjupi Arts is a 100% Aboriginal owned and directed community. It supports a new generation of artists establishing their own unique identity based on the legacy of their forefathers. Many of the artists are descendants of the founding members of the art movement.
