ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

In May 2018 one of the world's largest and most significant licensing trade fairs will be taking place in New York City; Surtex 2018

And a select few of Australia's finest new artistic talents are set to join the ArtSHINE delegation and take their place on the world stage at the show.

More than 20 artists who've been working with the Sydney-based ArtSHINE industries team will be heading to New York City to boost awareness and network with clients and other exhibitors at Surtex, the global B2B marketplace for sourcing original art & design.

ArtSHINE, headed by cofounders Vinh Van Lam and Stuart Horrex, have over the past five years, been searching and developing a portfolio of artists, and representing them to find suitable manufacturers, companies, art directors who want to license their art and design.

ArtSHINE will be representing Australia at Surtex which runs from May 20-22.

"It is a great opportunity for our talented pool of artists and designers to be promoted on the world stage and it can't get any bigger than Surtex," commented Vinh Van Lam.

ArtSHINE launched a project five years back called "Quirk" to discover new artists with unique art, styles and techniques. They were then introduced to the company's Accelerator and Launch Pad programs to assist in their art practice and commercialise their art. Artists from the Accelerator Program include Anthony Van Lam, Carrie Webster, Gabby Malpas, Georgia Patton, Helen Dubrovich, Kristine Ballard, Pattern by Design, and Sillier Than Sally.

The Launch Pad Program include artists: Amy Clarke, Arvee Gibson, Emel Jurd, Girija Kulkarni, James Mathurin, Jill Yates, Jim Chen, John Klein, Julia Townsend, Julie Ellitt, Marina Strijakova, Marie Widolf, Melissa Read Devine, Nathan Seabolt, Olga Kolesnik, Sami Woods, Sergio Sill , and Tony Edwards.

They are skilled in a host of art disciplines ranging from apparel fabric, children's merchandise, craft & hobby, decorative accessories, home furnishings and textiles, packaging, paper products, publishing, as well as fashion, greeting cards, tabletop/housewares, wall decor, wall coverings and giftware.

The exhibition, to be held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is a veritable who's who of manufacturers and retailers seeking the best original art and design being created today.
